Red Barn

This old Red Barn landscape was done in workshop with Ann Breckon. Thanks Ann. Landscapes are hard for me. I feel this needs a little bit of tweaking, but I love the barn. Colors are wonderful.

Fishing for dinner

Quick study on painting sand water and sea grass. Learned so much with this one. Need more work on water and shadows.

Christmas poinsettia, 2009

Everyone was painting poinsettia's during the holidays. This is one that I finished. I love the pink colors. I have it matted and framed. I think I know what to do with it.

Leisa's monarch x 2

Butterflies are beautiful and wonderful to paint. This painting is from a photo taken by Leisa, who graciously allowed me to paint it. I love everything about this painting, and it looks so much better in real life. The picture does not do justice to it. I can't wait to get it framed. Thanks Leisa.

Show is almost over

The NWWS 2009 Waterworks Show is winding down. We are currently in the process of accepting paintings for our 2010 Open Show. Joe Garcia will be our Juror, and the show is being held downtown Seattle at the Seattle Trade and Convention Center. It will be so much fun. Have to get something ready to enter into the show.

It's Mine

I submitted this painting into the Northwest Watercolor Society Waterworks 2009. It was accepted into the show. The juror is well known Watercolor Artist Christopher Schink. I am so proud!!!! It took it to the framer and had a wonderful frame and mat put on it and it looks wonderful. Our reception ceremony was last night. There were at least 100 people there. This painting is hanging proudly at the Kaewyn Gallery in Bothell, WA, until the show ends on November ends on November 24th. This is the very first time I have had a painting accepted into a show, in fact its only the second time I have ever entered. I feel blessed, and will continue painting birds. They are a wonderful subject for a painting.

Twin Rocks

This is the second painting done at Rockaway Beach. Twin Rocks is a local landmark. The water/waves were the topic of the workshop. I really love the grasses in the foreground. Need to work more on water.

Painting the Oregon Coast

I just got back from attending a workshop in Rockaway Beach, with watercolor artist and teacher Susie Short. We were learning to paint waves/water. This is the first painting we finished. I love it. Wish the sky wasn't quite so pastel. Will work more on waves.

Trio

This painting was fun to do, although black is a really hard color to work with. I like how this turned out. I do need to paint faces more. Practice - practice - practice!!!

Can we talk

I love painting birds. They are funny, entertaining and so fun to watch. These birds are no exception. Looks to me like they are sharing some secret.

Tiger Lily

This painting is from a photo of a lily growing in my front yard. It has a wonderful sweet scent. Beautiful. The painting is not as good as I wish, but I am putting it aside so I can move on. I may try this again, or another similar one.

Go Gunner Go!!!! This is a Work in Progress. I have lots to do before I can sign it and call it finished, but - I love this shot. Gunner will have his first birthday next weekend. He loves to hang out with his brother and sister. In this shot they are going shopping. Look at his little feet trying to keep up with Michael. What fun he is. Grandkids are great. Love them all. Gunner - when this painting is done, sweetie it is all your. I love you - grandma.

Cloudy Seascape

Working on seascapes, water and clouds. How fun. This is my first one. Will do it again.
