Introducing Vienna and Olivia

These little sweeties are 3 months old. They are fraternal twins, belong to a co-worker of mine. I so wanted to paint them, as I haven't had much luck painting babies. Their skin is so fragile, and hard to capture. This one is done. I learned so much, but see some things that are not quite right. They are so cute tho.

Hibiscus painting

Hibiscus flowers are my favorite, and I enjoyed painting this one. Leisa Walker graciously let me use a photo she had taken for this one. Thanks Leisa. I hope to do one in yellow.

Tiny hand

This painting is called "Tiny Hand" - One of the most challenging paintings I have done to date. So many things to remember, skin color, lights and darks and shape. I'm really going to have to do more of these, because they are so fun to do.

Wave study.

Mouser

This is Mouser. This painting was done during a Joe Garcia workshop. He is an incredible instructor. I'm trying to decide what to do with the background, if anything.

Rose study. Roses are hard to paint. I often get lost in the petals. This one turned out ok. On to something else.

I spent the afternoon painting rocks. What a fun and easy painting this was. Its 1/4 sheet Arches cold press. I don't have a name for it yet. Maybe Granite Rocks?

This month's project was monochomatic painting - and this crystal bowl was a group project. WOW. I have not attempted painting glass before, and I learned so much. I used Ultra-marine blue. I kind of like how it came out.

Candied Apple

This candied apple painting is from the WCW January Monthly painting group challenge. I really love working with the reflections of the Apple. It was a fun painting to do.

Red Barn

This old Red Barn landscape was done in workshop with Ann Breckon. Thanks Ann. Landscapes are hard for me. I feel this needs a little bit of tweaking, but I love the barn. Colors are wonderful.

Fishing for dinner

Quick study on painting sand water and sea grass. Learned so much with this one. Need more work on water and shadows.

Christmas poinsettia, 2009

Everyone was painting poinsettia's during the holidays. This is one that I finished. I love the pink colors. I have it matted and framed. I think I know what to do with it.
